My Own Essex

This page features some of the final outcomes for my final body of University work
– My Own Essex.

I have always been inspired by the great outdoors, with many happy memories being made there. I wanted to inspire people to have their own adventures in the wild and make their own memories. Many people that live in and visit Essex don’t know about some of its most beautiful natural areas.

So I set out to change that; designing a set of information packs and fun guides to seven of my favourite natural areas in Essex.

I wanted to infuse my strong typographic style, with a simple, modern design method to create something that will encourage people to go out and get exploring!

The seven areas I chose to explore were –
– Danbury Common
– Danbury Lakes
– Danbury Ridge*
– Hanningfield Reservoir
– Hadleigh Country Park
– Hylands Park
– Notley Outdoor Centre / Discovery Centre.

*My personal favourite!

To help engage a varied audience my printed work features QR codes that can take you to an Instagram page full of sounds and images of the areas. I believe this mixed media approach to my design helps to give people a better idea of what they can explore when they are visiting these areas.

Below are various images of outcomes and printed matter for this project.
